About Bob Melchior Taxidermist
Robert Melchior, the owner of Melchior’s Taxidermy, grew up in the Green Bay Wisconsin area and is a graduate of Pulaski High School. He gained an appreciation for hunting and fishing at an early age and this has instilled in him a lifelong enthusiasm for the outdoors. Robert has been practicing taxidermy since 1973.
As a self-taught taxidermist, Robert has learned his craft through books, seminars, and hands-on training with over 40 years of experience. Learning through trial and error has helped him find out what really does work and this knowledge has made his mounts very durable.
The years of practice have made him extremely efficient at skinning, mounting, and painting an extensive variety of game species. He has mounted most of the North American big game species as well as exotics from around the world.
Robert is an avid outdoorsman, an experienced big game and small game hunter, as well as a fisherman. For him taxidermy is a passion and not just a job.
